My best friend lives in Michigan and I’m trying to help him find a full-time job. His ideal job is working in a library of some sort, but he’s looking for a position that doesn’t require an MA in library science or acreditation from the American Library Association (ALA) for now. Does anyone know where I can find websites that list any and all types of library jobs?
Since he doesn’t have the MLIS, he should try applying directly at the local public library. Also tell him to consider community college and university libraries b/c they always need para-professionals without the MLIS. He can also consider specialized libraries in the law and corporate field b/c a lot of times they’d rather save $$ and pay a paraprofessional less than a bona fide librarian.
This URL has jobs in the midwest (including Michigan): http://www.libraryjobpostings.org/midwes…
